I would like to know what makes them such cool cars to modify, any problems I should look at when buying a mustang ex (rust in the trunk), and what mods do u suggest to make them fast. They are good, tough cars that are durable as hell. Most have lived an "aggresssive" life by their past owners. The 5.0 is very tough, responds well to modest bolt-ons that are highly plentiful in the market and reasonably priced overall. A great platform to work from.

Watch for rust, anywhere but particularly in frame area. High mileage is not neccessarily a show-stopper, depends on how the miles were accumulated. Mine has 148,000 and never had the heads off or the pan removed. Many others will say the same thing.

Good luck...and enjoy it!

well basically the 5.0 takes a likin' and keeps on tickin' and upgrades provide plentiful gains at a not to hefty of a price...the 5.0 in short responds well to mods

what are you trying to do/accomplish with the car? is it a daily street/strip? a weekend warrior? do you like old school, or a little mor modern?

Set a budget. Rust is your enemy.
