Manifold,Headers?

RE: Manifold,Headers?
a stock manifold is very restrictive. A stock 5.0 manifold is a little better than your standard cast manifold but is still very restrictive.
A header has larger, freer flowing, primaries and larger collector. Long tubes draw the exhaust down away from the heads and have a scavenging effect Much better.
yes you can use a header without a manifold as a header totally replaces your manifolds.

RE: Manifold,Headers?
ya a header is basically a manifold. normally manifolds go into more or one open area before the collector where as headers have individual primaries that meet at the collector. the 5.0 actually looks like headers but there still restrictive.
so no you dont need manifolds with headers just gaskets and bolts you can take your maniflods and use them for paper weights or door stops or something
