Default replacing half a vert top frame

one of these days I am going to replace the right hand half of my convertible top frame due to a lovely crack... one that isbraced for now so Hopefully the crack wont spread, but I doubt it will due to the place it cracked...

would I be better off taking my car to a top shop and have them replace the frame?

or is it something I can tackle in my garage?

you're pretty mechanically inclined.. you should be able to handle it. its gonna take you longer cause you've never done it, but you'll know for next time.
and do the whole thing, btw. much easier than half.

the car has the fabric still on it, the top itself is brand new, just the frame on the passenger side is shot.... crappy potmetal cast aluminum cracked right at what appears to be yet another design flaw... the fabric is only held on at the front of the frame if I am correct right?
