Default Checking TPS Voltage on a 94 5.0

Well I got a new TPS, after pulling TPS related codes. Now the question is how do I check the voltage. I hooked the postive lead to the gray wire with a white stripe via a pin. I attached the negative to a ground. Set the multimeter to 20K, yielded .76 volts. Am I good to go?

DMM setting should be in the VDC area, use the 20 or 2 VDC position..... 20k is a position associated with resistance readings. You may want to check this tutorial.

Alright, it reads 0.01 when set to 20 VDC.

I dont have the option for 2 VDC.

Keep the COM probe grounded, turn key to IGN ON and check the voltage reading from all three wires. LUK

Looks like that replacement is also fubar. Disconnect the EVP sensor and recheck voltage from the Gray/Wht wire. LUK

With the EGR senor unplugged, it settled at .31

While monitoring the voltage, reconnect the EVP and check if it drops to .14 vdc. If that's the case, you may either have a problem in the wiring, or a short in one of the other sensors SIGRTN (Gray/Red) is shared with (ECT, ACT, O2 sensors and EVP). LUK

So do I disconnect those senors listed above one-by-one until the reading changes?
