Default removing 94 gt airbag steering wheel

so I have a new steering wheel and I want to remove my factory unit... of course it has the airbag in it. anyone know how to do it without setting off the airbag? I also want to go ahead and remove the passenger side airbag as well so any help is appreciated.

be sure that you totally disconnect the battery. (pos & neg)
as a safe guard, wait about 1-2 min after you disconnect the battery to make sure there is no power.

it would be bad news to have the airbag go off in your face while youre trying to remove it.

for the passenger airbag, you are going to have to take out the glove box and reach up there and the back of the airbag is bolted onto a bar by 2 bolts. just remove these 2 screws and unplug and it will slide out. but you will then have a huge hole in your dash. are you removing these for weight savings or something?

I have removed tons of air bags and yes there is a technical procedure but all you really have to do is unbolt it and un plug it...trust me it will not go off, infact on defunct ones we like to set them out in the field and aply 12 volts and a ground to them and launch them in the air

I'm putting in an 8 point cage, a set of racing seats, 5 point harnesses, a new steering wheel and a few more things to get my car ready for some fun at road atlanta

you don't want airbags in a race car
