Default HELP with buying 5.0

Hello there. I am from the camaro forums. some of you may have met me (yellow iroc)when you came over to our site last week during your update. Anyway today while i was at work a guy came up to me and told me he was selling his mustang and if i knew anyone who wanted it. He told me it was a 91 gt convertible with a repaint 3 years ago. It doesnt have any body damage except for a broken headlights and the driver door had to be pryed open in the winter to get to work so now it has scrapes. the paint is not in the greatest shape but id say is about a 7 out of 10. he says if you put it into overdrive it doesnt power the rear wheels. he said something about the clutches being bad. it has 130,000 on the motor but i think that they have been good ones, as i have never seen him drive the car rough. He told me he would let it go for $1500 . Do you think its a good deal? How long do these motors last?

My 91 vert has 238,000 on it and still runs strong. As long as the top is in good condition and there is no rust it sounds like a decent deal. Is the car an auto or a 5 speed?

it seems to be a pretty straight car , its currently his daily driver. Im just worried about the trans. Anyone else have this problem on theirs? I hate when cars break down, its so embarrassing.
