Default New To 5.0

Hi, my names Jake

i have a 87 Ford Mustang with at the moment a 2.3 Turbo. Its not what i expected.

my plan is to swap a 5.0 into the mustang heres my questions

7.5 Rear end? is it gonna last long?

Stock Drive line from 2.3, will it fit 5.0 auto or manual trans?

Carb or EFI???

Long Tube Or Shorty Headers?

H or X pipe?

Your 7.5 will hold, but if you wanna make some real power you're gonna need to get an 8.8

You will need to swap over to a T-5 tranny. You may need a new driveshaft as well. (not too sure about that)

Go EFI for sure. Especially if you're wanting to go turbo (I think it says so in your sig?)

If you're goin for big N/A power Long tube headers. Downside is they hang kinda low. You'll need shorties w/ some modification for a turbo stang.

Off Road X-Pipe... So what if you don't pass emissions?? lol

If you're going to take the time to swap to a 5L conversion, Why not take the time to swap the 7.5" for the 8.8" at the same time?! ...basically just unbolting bolts, + you can find a used 8.8" for $100-$300 ...

...just spoke with a buddy of mine who has converted a few 4 cyl's. ....Trans., driveshaft will work...

You will need a 5L bellhousing (as stated) & a different pilot bearing...then your good to go on the "budget" plan!
