Default EFI to Carb Problems....

Here's my issue.

I have converted my 87 GT to carb.

I am running a Eddy RPM Air Gap Intake, Holley Street Dominator 670, Duraspark II ignition,
and a 85 GT dizzy.

I have everything wired up and the car will fire for about 1 sec and die. I am getting fuel @ 6 psi.

I have restabbed the dizzy but this one seems much harder to get right than the original dizzy.

All the above parts are brand new including coil. I am at a loss. This thing should fire right up.

I need help. I gotta get this thing running.

MJR46 helped me with the wiring for all this so I know that is right.

haha dude, i feel your pain, when i had my last 88lx 4cyl to v8 carb i had the same exact problem when i changed over ignition to an older duraspark setup. i spent weeks trying to figure the **** out, and finally realized i just had the dizzy wired wrong, the 2 wires coming off one was going to the starter or something i cant remember so it would only get power while hte key was turned all the way over. so it would die off after like 2 seconds, it drove me freakin crazy, ill look for my old thread and see if i can remember how i wired it. i bet its the same problem

correction: i didnt really describe it well in my thread, but i had a wire coming off the coil going to the wrong area, wire from dizzy went to - side of coil, and + wire was originally going to the starter, but that was wrong or something, i had reroute the wire to somewhere in the fusebox or something for power for an ignition on only accessory, or something, i dont know it was a while back. heres my thread

pm sent without even reading your thread I drew the same conclusion about a possible issue with where you have the 12 v source, most likely on a hot in crank only and it needs to be hot in run for both coil and box

THanks a million. One damn little wire was stopping it from running. The key on hot according to jason fletchers site is wrong. Or at least on my car it is.
