Questions on possible Twisted Wedge kit or possible other combos
#41
The TFS have a shorter intake centerline, which makes there heads seem smaller than they really are.
Good marketing as well.
Truth is good, no matter what it is.

any ideas?

What intake are you going with?
Jay (CI) can cam it for whatever you choose, he's had good luck with a 90mm TB on one of his projects, and if you plan on growing the combo later (what it sounds like) then this would be beneficial. TFS-R is available with a 90mm opening.....FWIW.
To answer your questions:
1. Pushrods. You will need to measure with an adjustable pushrod to obtain the proper geometry.
2. Gaskets. Will depend on the parts used. TFS makes gaskets for their parts.
3. Lifters. If you can afford it, the Crane Link-bar lifters (Jay sells them) are a good choice. The stockers WILL work too.
4. Plan to pay for a chip or tuning device to tune the PCM for the MAF and injectors, rev limiter....etc.

Yep, they have a longer intake centerline. The ports are smaller, but longer, which gives them the appearance of more volume.

It could be a different valve angle...
An AFR, Brodix, DART, etc. head does not have the same average runner length either.
A Canfield 195 has a stock 20* valve angle as well.

my main concern was not so much port volumne but roughness in the castings, I wish I had a pic to post but as it was for a frind/customer he wasn't concerned about it so I didn't worry either, besides the car ran an et which met his expectation
