Gas leak

I have been having a gas leak where my regulator attaches to the rail. I have replaced the o ring and the seal and it still leaks. Is there some kind of silicon I can use to help seal it up?

I am using a Profesional Products regulator, does anyone else have this problem with theirs? The quality looks great, I just don't understand why it is leaking. Maybe my rail is F'ed...who knows. I really want to take my car out this weekend to a local cruise and I don't want to fear it bursting into flames......

Have you tried using thread tape? Otherwise known as teflon tape?

It doesn't have any threaded area to use it on....it is just 2 nipples that stick out and go into the rail. Then it has a flat area with 3 tapped holes to mount it with. I might be able to use thread sealer maybe is like a gasket maker of some sort.

When I put a new one on I use some vasline

MJR,
It is new, solid aluminum, I don't think it is warped.

rtv should not be used on something like that and don't assume it's not warped, what's it take to lay a straight edge across it= a few sec with a feeler gauge, look for any manufactoring flaws on surface, just an idea...good luck:)

Well, I figured out the leak after taking it off again. There is a plug on the side of the regulator that was leaking, and I couldn't see it till after I took it off.....it has gas running down the side. Kinda sucks to spend 70 bucks and have it leak, but I think I can fix it.

That plug is for a fuel guage hook up. Just put some teflon tape on it.
