Default Air bag sensor?

When I start the car I get five beeps that are coming from under the dash. I believe that this is the air bag sensor. At any given timewhile driving down the road I get the same five beeps. Some times it willkeep going off for 3-4 minutes, the same five beeps with abrief pause between them. The car is a 1990 mustang gt, I think it is the first year to havea drivers side air bag installed. Any help on what could cause this would be much appreciated.

if that is the sound it is coming from the air bag module....when I converted my 92 4cyl to a 5.0 carbed set up air bag sensors were disconnected from efi harness so light flashed in the dash indicating an air bag malfunction....well duh!!! so I said I'll take care of that and remove light bulb in cluster well when you do that then the air bag module will sound off on start up for a few sec and after that every 30 min for a few sec again...if someone has removed bulb replace it and troubleshoot where prob is in air bag system if your still efi or simply unplug the harness going into the blue box behind the dash...

Hi, I have a similar problem! I think that its a ground that is not making a good contact but I don't have an electrical wiring diagram to see where I can spot the problem. would you have one? I'll let you know what my problem is if I fix it. Johnny Cash

Thanks, I'll check the bulb to see if that’s the issue.

yea there is a malfunction with a component within the air bag system, you'll need to pull the code and reference code to see what part of the system has a problem
