Is this Bumpsteer I feel??????
 

90 GT

I upgraded my suspension this spring and now I have this wierd situation occasionally:

When deep into a turn-like a highway offramp etc...it feels like the front end floats or I loose the steering for a second and then it comes back.

When driving straight down the road...there is no play in the steering and it is right on..

Here are the mods all brand new:

-Maximum motorsports CC plates, Solid Steering Shaft and K Member Brace

-Ford Racing Control arms

-Steeda Sport Springs-KYB Struts

-Power Steering Rack 15:1

-End links, non offset rack bushings, tie rods


Front Sway Bar and bushings are still stock

Alignment specs

Left / Right

Camber -.1 / -1.0

Caster 3.1 / 3.3

Toe -.13 / -.15


Is this bumpsteer or too much toe out orsomething else??

i cant answer your question but god damn that lx spoiler goes so well with that cobra bumper

LOL...ya I spent a month last winter when it was getting painted trying to decide which spoiler to run..>I had a Saleen and thought it was too big...then I was going to run no spoiler, then a stock GT etc etc

No.

Bumpsteer is when your tires toe in and out as the front suspension travels through it's extension and compression.

Light cars that are heavily spring, like most Mustangs will barely have noticeable bumpsteer. This is not to say they are immune to it but compared to say a 4500lbs luxury car from the 70's with worn shocks hitting dips on the highway.

thats not bump steer, bump steer is when you hit a bump on one wheel and the car pulls to that direction. it occurs when the suspention and steering arent parrallel the entire travel, thus, the suspention moving up causes a sudden steering situation.
