You can also check your radiator cap and see if there is a milkshake like liquid on it. To know for sure whether you have a BHG do a block test on the cooling system. This consists of getting a tool that fits down into the radiator(looks like a turkey baster), you fill the tool with blue liquid and while the car is running start pumping the pump on the top of the tool, this draws up the gases that are running through the cooling system and detects if combustion gases are present, if the blue liquid turns yellow you can be almost positive you have a bad head gasket. From there you can do a compression check and then a leakdown test. If two cylinders adjacent to each other are low on compression you most likely have a blown hg between those two cylinders. Later.

My oil looks like oil, but what got me worried is i read on corral that if your exhaust was steaming after it was turned off it was bad. But could that coolant leaking onto the exhaust cause this? Im just worried that i might have ruined the engine

Started up today, and it was idiling like a champ, staying cool and everything. Its staying at about the A in NORMAL (N being the top L being the bottom). Then im like cool i will take it for a spin, so i do. Its fine then BOOM! the temp shoots up. Is this because the water gets to operating temp then shoots out of the plug causing it to overheat? I need help!

What kind of thermostats did you use? Aftermarket? NAPA, Autozone, CarQuest...etc...? Or did you get a Ford one, because Fors's like Ford thermostats, trust me.

Make sure you don't have a faulty gauge. Get a mech. gauge and try that
