Default Blocking exhaust port passage

Does anyone know if I could use some kind of epoxy or JB weld to block off the exaust passage in the intake?

for the egr hole?..if so than get a piece of metal and drill 2 holes to match the screw hole and put a gasket on and screw it in. epoxy might melt or deteriate and than later down the road fall in the intake and bounce around on your pistons....same goes for the jb weld.

Not the ones in the ends of the heads, the one that goes up the center of the intake. I would like to block it as close to the head as possible to keep the heat out of the intake. I already have a block off plate for the egr itself.

those are not egr ports , they are for the thermactor air system and type in thermactor plugs on summits website and there you will find what you need

I already have the thermactor holes plugged (with a 5/8" bolt). I am talking about the non threaded holes that goes from the head- through the lower intake -through the upper intake- to the egr spacer. I want to plug that hole in the lower intake where the holes meets the head. It will keep heat out of the intake if I can figure out how to block it off.

go to the hardware store and find a tap that will make threads in it, then find a pipe plug with the same threads and a hex key end, screw it in with a little high temp RTV and you're set. or you could get it welded up.

A freeze plug might work. Tap it in there then stake it down. NAPA should have the right size for you.

those are refered to as the exhaust cross over ports and you need NOT, do any of the suggestions that any of the others mentioned because what I did is the correct way and here is what you can do, when you purchase the fel-pro #1250 intake gasket set = 20 bucks they come with little football like cut outs that can be placed over the holes the gasket has a provision to lock them in place.. been there done it, my 85 is done that way
