Default just got a 88 GT T-TOP and need help

ok so here is the deal i just bought the car three days ago right before fay decided to camp out here in florida
first thing is the car will start fine but after running for a bit say from my house to the gas station that is about 5 miles away i can shut the car down and fill up or go buy something and it wont start just sounds like a dead battery but if i wait 15 min it starts fine. could this be the alt or battery
ok and for number two anyone know a place to buy t-top seals and door seals i have a leak!! not sure were but pretty sure it is from the outer top seal

any help would be very helpfull

For your T-tops, Latemodelrestoration.com is a great site.
That sounds like battery to me. Test it out, and you will see.

i would inspect all connections and grounds, seeing you just got the car i would clean and check all grounds and alt. connections

I dont know if you have the stock intake or one of the fender cold air intakes, but I had my mass air mounted before my supercharger in the fender and whenever I would hit a puddle or any at all such as a car wash, the mass air would get wet and my car would die for 15 or 20 minutes. If you have the stock location mass air then disregaurd and take your alternator and battery to the auto store and get them checked.

my 2.3 was doing that. few days later the starter stopped working altogether. tapping with a hammer worked a bit, but eventually needed to buy a new one (lifetime warranty through autozone)

run a ground wire, same size of the battery cable to the ac bracket bolt.

Verify the ground strap on rear of motor is intact as well.

When you say "sounds like a dead battery" Do you mean the solenoid is just clicking when you turn the key? I would check that as well. I have owned a lot of 80's-90's Fords (Stangs and pickups.) The solenoids are known for being temperamental
