Got a 95 GT need to know if the distributor gear should be bronze one or a cast iron??
I pulled mine out to see a bronze gear on it and the aftermarket rebuild has a cast iron one on it.

For roller style cams, the gear should be steel (not cast iron), flat tappet cams use bronze.

Thank you for the scoop on gears. I am doing my homework before I order anew distributor...it has gotten to the point where I think I will just replace the sensor myself and be done with it. Unless the tolerances are out of specs on the gears.
Once again, thank you.

the stock ford hyd roller cam gears take all steel ,not cast cast will wear out quik ,also if you run i bronze gear to wheres out quick too,,some after market cam are set up for bronze gears only like mine ,,you can tell by the cam ,,if it look bronze beteen the lobes you must run bronze gear only ,,if the cam looks steel get the steel gear from ford..by no means dont get the cast gear ,,unles you got flat tappet cam or reg hyd cam..
