uh oh...
Well i just got the car up in the air..pulled the diff cover to try and solve the "clunk" ive been hearing in the rear end...needless to say...rear end is junk. Whoever did the work on this..which apparently was recently (says the guy i bought it from)did not do a very good job. Shims are like falling out..backlash doesnt even need to be measured theres so much play..so..rebuild time. Heres what i have goin..tell me if this is a good deal or not. ENTIRE rear end rebuild/replacement. New trac loc unit and everything..3.73 or 4.10 gears and all other stuff..bearings seals shims etc..all installed professionally for 800 (my neighbor is a mechanic*) is this a deal?

does 800 include parts too?? or is that just labor??? I just rebuilt a guys rear for 550.00 which included installing new seals , wheel bearings, rebuild trac loc, install all new carrier bearings and set rear up/gears, he provided all parts

now comes the question im sure has been asked a million times....what gears? initially i was thinking 4.10's...but chances are im never gonna have slicks on the car, or any bigger tire than is on there now, AND IF i ever get to the track,id probably be spraying...so am i better off with 3.73's?
