t5 tranny

I bought a 89 gt mustang with supposed jasper engine and tranny. well i blew the clutch out pressure plate. when the tranny was pulled he said it was a t5 for a V4. i never heard of this? is there any truth? and if so will i be able to still use this tranny or need to switch?

v4 as in 4 cyl?, anyways there are two kinds of t5's theres the non world class (NWC) and the world class (WC), the only diff in putting a t5 in any car is the interchangeable parts like the transmission tunnel or small things etc..., long story short no you can still just that tranny, unless you want to buy used which would be 4 to 6 bills or a grand brand new, hope it helps...

you can get the tag off the tranny and look for the number to verify it's a 2.3 litre t-5 tranny look for 1352-...... the input shaft tip where pilot bearing rides is smaller on 2.3 t-5's with the correct pilot bearing they can be used in a 5.0, take a pic of the tip and post it and we can tell:D
