RE: I GOT BEAT BUY AN SRT-4
well the 700r4 has a kickdown cable and was discontiuned as the popular tranny when 4l60e came out. i dont see how its electronic controlled at all. it may have some electrical connections but its not an electronic tranny. let me sum it up this way. your elcamino isnt ecu controlled....thus not needing a ecu to control the tranny. if you had a 4l60e then you would need a ecu to control it. this is why a hypertech cant adjust shift points for one of them like it can for a 4l60e.

Well my opinion is that the standard is still quicker unless the auto is "tuned up" with a shift kit and higher stall torque converter. Then it will be quicker than a stick. The stock torque converter has too low a stall speed to get the best take-off although steep gears would help that out. Needless to say, 93stanglx was taken, more than likely, because he has an auto

Noe one can shift faster in a manual than an automatic, cinple as that. All you need to do is adjust the TV cable and you'll have it made, and don't call that not stock. You can adjust your TPS can't you? I guess if you do, that it's not stock anymore? I hate these types of arguments but honestly...

you manually shift aod by going 1 D 1 then D......this plays havioc on the OD band but gets performance out of a stock AOD
adjustint the TV. nothing ot it. get a flat blad screwdriver. look under your TB. now pry it off the arm. youll see a black square on a grooved plastic piece.. mark this first where its set. so you have a reference point. now get the screwdriver and push out the yellow or white pin inside the black square. now slide it rear ward towards firewall. just be carefull dont get to greedy. you can go all the way but this will evenutally cause issues on the tranny
