I have this same set up on my 66 bought from autozone car runs low 13's on street tires and all for less than 100 bucks the duraspark ignition is quite adequate for such applications I ran it on my 85 doing low 12's no issues either!!

Will i need a special harness for this. If so can i make on my own, do you know were i can find the wiring diagram for this.

when you get the stuff ready to wire up you can PM me. it is easy to wire up, box has two connectors, two prong connector = 12 v switched to red wire and wite wire I grounded mine, but not necessary, 12 v switched power to b+ on coil and on 4 prong connector solid green wire from box goes to neg side coil and other three wires get color code matched to three wires on dizzy connector

Awsome thanks MJ, wow hopefully mine gets better response, they rebuilt my motor and dumb ******** used the same distrbutor from the early 289's, today that i put the new cam in i noticed the gear almost gone!! I was like ooo ****! So new cam new distributor, lets hope for the best!!!

^^^^^^^^^your kidding??? better hope there isn't metal through out the whole motor cause that'd tear the bearings up in short order

STILL, if that gear is torn up, the metal from it went somewhere, think about it!!! gauranteed you cut the filter open it'll be a gold mine, best to change oil filter and flush it out a few times with consecutive oil changes
