oil pressure gauge, is it working?

I bought a new FAZE electrical oil pressure gauge and needle stays buried unless I hook up the factory sender wire and then when I do that it works but it only reads about 15 or so psi at idle?

test it with a mech. gauge right off the sendin unit, and see what it reads then youll kno forsure. it could be 15 at idle, does it go up with revvs?
