SO i hear alot of guys telling me to get an H.O block for the 5.0L, but i have no F**king clue what it is? Also I would like to know when they started putting forged pistons in cuz I know 1992 was the last yr. but I't would be beneficial to know the first yr. they were introduced.
thanks

the block is not what makes it h.o it's the internal components such as cam and pistons , 85 had forged pistons in the mustang as well as 86 but no valve reliefs in 86

85 also only had 8.8:1 compression. Heads weren't E7TE, not sure if pistons were lower comp. ratio or if those E6 heads had bigger combustion chambers. not sure on86', but 87-92 were 9.0:1.

86 was slightly higher at 9.3 to 1 and correct on the 85 not having e7 heads they had e5 heads which are identical to e7 heads = no difference
