Default smoking from rear tire

well the driver side rear tire has been smoking pretty badly, it smells like brake fluid is burning off and i think there is a little bit leeking onto the drum. is this bad? becuase i know it is right next to the gas tank.

The only 2 things that will leak into the drum is the wheel cylinder or the Axle seal being bad.
I would check ASAP.

it seems like its the brake drum, and it smells like brake fluid too. theres some liquid sitting right at the bottom of the drum, is it dangerous to drive like this being that its that close to the gas tank? i mean could it ignite if i brake too hard?

I fits the wheel cylinder dont drive it if you dont have to. All you brake fluid is being drained. You will need the wheel cylinder and new rear brakes.
