car broke valvetrain????

Default car broke valvetrain????
my car boke to day it still runs but cyllinders are not fireing and it makes noises (tapping noises) i dont no what it is maybe the valves?

could be lots of things. bent valves, broken springs, worn down cam tappets.
first thing to do is pull the valve covers

perform a compression test on all cylinders first to locate the cylinder and side you need to focus on

if your not firing on all cylinders it could be very well tat the sound is because it is detonating without the sparkplug

detonating with out a spark plug...how? lol

well i think im just going to do a head swap from my 87 but i was wondering would the heads off my 87 fit on my 84 ??

Fyi......not a good idea to swap parts until you locate the problem for sure , otherwise if the prob is elsewhere a head swap could not fix it..then what will you do
