Default HOW LONG DO A FUEL PUMP LAST?

THE REASON WHY I ASK IS BECAUSE MAY OF 2007 I BOUGHT A FUEL PUMP AND REGULATOR (BBK 255 FUEL PUMP AND KIRBAN REGULATOR) FROM AMP PERFORMANCE AND MY CAR BOGS AND BACKFIRE AT 3500-5000RPM.
ALSO I CHECK WITH FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE AND WHEN WARM BETWEEN 3500-5000 RPM WOT THE PRESSURE IS AT 5-10 PSI.AT IDLE MY PRESSURE IS AT 30-40PSI.

Did you set the pressure with the vacuum disconnected? The only other thing that I would look into is the hose that connects your fuel pump to the metal tubes in the tank. I have had one of those hoses leak pressure.

They are really supposed to last close to the lifetime of the vehicle (original Ford parts anyway) but of course some fail sooner. Not sure about the aftermarket ones but my last Fox body I put a 190lph pump in and worked fine for several years and most likely is still kickin :-)
I'm planning on putting a Walbro 255 in my current SN95 and don't intend on ever having to change it out again after that ;-)
