Default wierd tranny problem(tranny just rebuilt)

well i just bought a 90 ford mustang gt(auto) the kid just had the tranny rebuilt and also had a shift kit put in no more than a 100 miles ago...well id say ive ran it prolly 150 miles and no when it gets warm when i start to take off in first it revs out untill i hit like 3500rpm(moves very slowly) and grabs like i neutral droped it....the hotter it gets the worse it is...you can tell its spinnin something in the tranny but its not going anywhere fast.....and a little back info also it never really shifted "right" it would shift real quick...was in od by 35 mph....and sat at 2500rpm at 60 seemed a bit high...any inputs on this...and it was rebuilt by crt a local mustang shop

that would explain wierd shifting but the slipping action off the dig....im startin to more and more think its the torque converter seeing as it shifts fine when it finaly grabs..and the tranny has been rebuilt 4 times int he past 4 years and now its a complete street strip rebuild..and id guarantee they never cleaned or changed the converter

the tv pressure can cause all kinds of problems, but if the converter has a bunch of miles on it, if its stock, then yea get a new one and a trans cooler.
use the merc 5 for awhile, i guess 1k miles or something and then use the synthetic fluid, im not sure right off the bat w/ the syn. is good or bad, the merc5 wont hurt it.

jack the car up, remove the few bolts to the torque converter inspection plate, turn the crank or bump starter, until you see the torque converter drain bolt.

Drain it, and let us know if silver metal comes out with the oil.
