Hi im the new guy.. i have some questions :)

hi folks.. im building a 327 stroker
i found a good deal on a 1996 explorer Gt40 5.0 it has the Gt40 heads.
BTW( brand new gt40 lower intake forsale )

nwy i want to build a 327
3.250 crank with stock bore since the engine is brand new :)

i found some kits out there for my app

why are some of them so expensive?

for a stroker your gt-40 heads will hold back the full potential of that motor, imo 347 ftw
heck if it's going in a truck I'd just put the motor in as is!! unless your building a street strip truck:D

ohh really ? ahh ok ok .. well ill just iswap a cam then and lower the engine as is :) thanks!!!
lol i aint building a street strip truck but i want a truck that moves good.. atleast to run high 15's
what do you guys think about this cam??
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=CCA-35-349-8

i know it has the same lift as a F303 cam but a friend of mine swapped a F303 cam in his truck he took it out in a month it doesnt have the torque a truck needs.. he installed that cam and is very happy...

looks as if that cam is designed for lower rpm and torque which is where you'd want a truck to develop power = down low for pulling or towing, if your not concerned with it being a strip truck as stated then like I said I wouldn't spend all that money to do a stroker.....that motor should meet your expectations as is as long as the truck will have a decent exhaust and gears in the rear:D

like i said i just want a good truck with a good motor.. not a street strip but something to run high 15's - 16's ;)

Camshaft

Long Tube Headers

3:73 Gears

Advance Timing

You'll be happy, I drove a stock explorer with that motor, stock timing etc, it pulled decent.
