Default GT-40 crate engine

hey, I went to Ford today in Michigan today, and asked them how much the GT-40 crate engine was with the 345HP rating. after a call they said $3200 (american $). anyways, I am going to ask ford in Ontario tomorrow, and i bet it wont be much more. its something I have noticed when I price factory parts for my stang or intrepid at the dealers in USA and Canada. The Canada prices arent much more (my intrepid blinker relay was $32 Canada and $31 american)

so anywyas, back to the GT-40 crate engine. is this a tough built 302? how would a supercharger be on this engine (9.0:1 compression, E303 cam)? also, is this engine kind of like a radio shack computer....its good quality, but when you try to upgrade it you are screwed? are these hyper pistons or forged?

These questions might be stoopid, but I have no knowledge about the crate motors

Im pretty sure they're hyper pistons, and if you can buy in Canada you should save lotsa cash.

They're businesses here in the US that operate by purchasing Canadian cars, converting the dash to US (kph to mph), then selling them for 2k less than a new car here. Basically after shipping and conversion they can save 4 - 5 k on the car, then resell it for 2k less than the other cars and make a killing. People also do that with everyday items too, like DVD players etc.
