So i got the ol gurl out of the garage yesterday took it down the road and on the way home i came to a stop, turned and as i went to shift into 3rd just heard a loud clunk! I was only a mile or so from home, good thing. Out of gear it will just sit there and cling and clank but as soon as you push in the clutch pedal all is good. It goes in and out of gear smoothly, doesnt stick or anything. Havent done to much work on trannys, any thoughts???

sounds like the throwout bearing if there is chattering when you dont push the pedal down...
