Yep, as stated above the coolant temp. sensor is located behind the thermostat housing on the intake. There is also a coolant temp sending unit on the front of the lower intake that indicates the temp to the gauge. Motorcraft sending units go for about $35 with aftermaket ones a tad bit less at $20. The sending unit is about $12.
