I wouldn't discriminate against any particular year 87-93 fox. I mean really if each year was sitting there for sale, all in the same condition, for all the same money. OK chose your poison. Reality is these cars are almost 20 years old. Pick the best one you can find/afford. Change what bothers you. Like the forged piston. If you are modifying it far enough for pistons to be a concern you are most likely not going to use the 15 year old engine as is.
Also hate to see people avoiding a perfect 87-88 just because it doesn't have mass air. It's a super easy conversion.
The airbag vs tilt. Tilt is cool and all but the airbag just may save your life.

If you plan on keeping the car for a long time than it may be worth it but if not it prob wont be. I had to adjust my steering wheel in my DD to the same as my stang so when I drove the Stang it wouldnt feel extremely wierd lol. It worked though, now I'm just used to both.

yeah for sure tilt is the way to go! One other question though, when was the first year for forged pistons? I can seem to get an answer for this one!

1985.

And the 93 Cobra had hyper cast pistons, same as the GT.

Actually, 1985 was the first year for the WC, but only in the SVO. The WC was available in the 87-93 5.0's.
