im looking for a good torque and good Hp.. i was thinking this cam
The COMP Cams 35-349-8 but dang that cam is too complicated to install "beehive springs" expensive stuff.. trust me ive dont my research on wich cam to select.. its between the F cam and the comp cam one..
its going into a 1989 F150 2wd single cab short bed

im realy confused about that cam..
what kind of machining does it requiere to make the valve springs work?

#7
but the camquest program says that the valve springs and valve locks needs machining thats why i asked..
and they are also a footnote on summit on these parts
here is the chat i had with summit live chat yesterday
There is a foot-note for these springs??
Dean: Hmm,..let me check
jurgen henriquez: k thx
Dean: Comp does indicate that the CCA-986-16 require machining on stock heads. The only other spring they list is CCA-26986-16.
Dean: Those are "beehive" style. But same strength.
Dean: They are better for higher RPM's usage.
jurgen henriquez: and doesnt require machining or any mods to make them work?
Dean: No, they don't indicate that. It does take a different retainer, CCA-795-16.
jurgen henriquez: ok, so if i get that cam.. those beehive springs and those retainers im all set? just install and run
Dean: Well, that is what I assume. You might want to verify with Comp 800-999-0853
jurgen henriquez: k .. when im so far ill give them a call thanks
