Whats more amazing...Who actually keeps the quad shocks after they've taken them off? I don't think mine ever hit the ground. They went from the car, to the garbage can.

If I had any in the first place I would have dropped mine. Reminds me of the torque strut that was on the original 3.8 that was in my car back in the day. I have no clue where it went lol.

control arms, no matter what make/model, are supposed to be tightened down with the car supporting its own weight, so you dont twist the bushings.
I'm gonna go ahead and disagree here. I tightened ALL of mine in the air and have had no problems.

No he's right PRO...i'm doing my suspension research right now, what's the next can of worms i plan to open on my 5.0. I've spend hours on Maximum Motorsports website reading their installation instructions for their control arms, panhard rod kit, torque arm, subframes, sway bars, k-member, caster camber plates, you name it. Their instructions do say to let the suspension rest under the weight of the car before you torque everything.

Just because the instructions say to do it doesn't mean that it has to be done in some cases. each pair of control arms arm different and some may allow for the movement needed to set normal if tighted without the weight of the vehicle.

Last night I had the same problem. I took off my quad shocks because they had locked in position, pulled back. So I figured instead of replacing them, just leave them off. WRONG. Major wheel hop during the burn out. Launched awesome, just could not do a burn out. So, I will be buying new ones now. What is the best pinion angle to have?

And that's all I'm saying. I tightened everything on my car in the air, and have had no problems. So IMO, it's not imperative.

lmatt, you just need to get a quality set of control arms and you can run without quad shocks and have no wheel hop. Many are running without them and have no problems.
