RESTORE???

Yeah, I'm thinking we need someone with a bad oil leak, or a blue smoke issue, and we need to test Restore, Lucas, and regular old thick oil. How many miles does the car get before it goes through a quart? Or, if the leak is a bit worse, how many quarts does it take to go a mile?
Here's what we do. 4 quarts of 10w30, 1 of Restore. Measure viscosity. Then do the same for the Lucas. If the resulting viscosity is close between the 2, try to find a straight oil that has the same viscosity. I bet the results would be exactly the same. Less leak, less smoke, less money spent on products that are not what they claim to be.

I haven't used the lucas stuff but I have tried restore on my old FJ40 landcruiser that burns a crapload of oil. Like a quart every hundred miles. I have done the diagnosis on the motor, and the lower end is pretty spent as far as rings/cylinder walls is concerned. The head is tight according to a leakdown test. Restore did absolutely nothing, and that was on top of the 20W50 that I run in it anyhow. Just for kicks I tried some of that no smoke stuff from some other company (found it at wal mart one day) and dumped it in there too, still no change. I wasn't really expecting an engine rebuild in a bottle, I was just looking to lessen the smoke and oil consumption. So basically if you are seeing smoke and going through a decent amount of oil, diagnose the motor and fix it.
