Default 86 AND A 429

Hi guys, I am new to the site and its great. My ? is, I have an 86 gt that is kind of worn. And I was thinking of replaceing it with a 1970 model 429 that is built pretty good. I was wondering if you guys know of any potential problems. Or if it is even doable.

A basic 429 from a full size Merc or Ford will leave you disappointed. They are big, heavy, torque engines with little in terms of horsepower. Which is exactly what big heavy car needs. A fox body Mustang needs horsepower.

im pretty sure 429s can be prepped up to be a good engine, the swap shold be close to the 460 swap which is pretty common

Yes the 429 will fit like said above it is the same as the 460. They sell a kit to put them in. dont think you are gone to go road racing and running it through curves at 100 mph that thing will be nose heavy. As far as making power it dont take much to wake up a big block.
