How much leg room do the Fox bodies have?
I'm 6'2" and a solid 275lbs (ok about 40lbs are fat ) and am looking to buy a '91 GT. Problem is it doesn't have much leg room. Is this indicative of all Fox bodies? Im in Australia so it's not like I can head down the local used car lot and try some out, foxes are extremely rare down here.
I'm pretty sure I had the seat all the way back, well it wouldn't go any farther back for me. Apart from that it was a great handling car with plenty of zip with the 5.0L. I should mention this is a RHD converted car although that doesn't change the floorpan.
Any advice apart from cut my legs off?

im 6'1'' and a good solid big build and 210, and i have racing seats and i fit just fine, if anything i could put the seat a littler forward, dont forget u can modify the seat to sit farther back.

i am 6'6" and i do ok in my mustangs. after market seat extenders are available which lets the seat slide back more. a sun roof or t-top mustang will give you more room too , so look for those if you need more head room. you should be ok for room so get that mustang and enjoy it. good luck.

Thanks guys.
mstngsule68; I did sit in one, thats how I know it was cramped. Maybe I'm just used to my current car which if I had the seat as far back as it goes my feet dont even reach the pedals.
It could also just be a poor RHD conversion as far as accelerator pedal placement goes. It may be a bit too far to the left. The brake is definitely too far to the left, about the only way you can drive it comfortably is if you are a left foot braker which I'm not (it's an auto so no clutch pedal).
86 5.0L; I am a freak of nature so maybe it is my legs
crazyhorse; thats good to know as we were considering modifying the seat rails to get more travel. And it actually has a factory sunroof, one of it's many good points. The fact that its in excellent condition with only 47,000mls on the clock are good too.
It's actually being sold by a place that does Mustang restorations (it was a trade in) and then sells them off so they mainly deal with the 60s stuff, which is 90% of what we have here as far as Mustangs go. We have a few '94 - '04, the '02 Cobra was officially converted and sold in small numbers by the factory here, and companies privately import the new ones and sell them at ridiculously high prices ($100 grand Aus for a regular GT, thats about $80G US at current rates!). Very little in the way of foxes though, although there was actually an immaculate SVO for sale here earlier this year, and cheap too! Most are convertible '87-'90 auto GTs.
