88 running rich

this is my guess...my buddy swapped a 5.0 out of an 89LX into his 88GT, without taking the computer over...ran absolutely terribly for 2 weeks before we realized the speed density/mass air difference with the computer. swapped the computer and harness over, and all was/is fine.

I have been busy so have not had much time to help this guy.....however today I was able to get one of the two O2 sensors changed with new.
He did not know he needed 2 of them.
BTW....the car does not have a CAT.
He called me worried cuz the guy at Autozone said he had a blown head gasket but a compression test revealed 160-175 across all 8 cylinders.
He does have a VERY minor leak on the fuel feed line down under the alt, but it is barely perceptable. It will get fixed.
Idle at cold start up is a lopey 900. Black smoke and fire popping in the exhaust system.
I also snapped a pic of the ECM.

From what I read on: http://www.fordfuelinjection.com
We are working with the EEC-IV which is the best out there.
So any ideas out there folks?
*kicks himself for spending so much time learning imports and 4 cylinder cars

There is a computer on e-bay with the same numbers that the lister says it's from an 87 GT. There should be no problems there if it has no MAF.
From the ad:
"This is a good used engine computer removed from an 87 Mustang HO V8. It has been remanufactured according to a label on the back side of it.
The ONLY Part number is on the connector:
E7SF-12A650-C1A"

LOL at taking tech/diagnostic advice from the parts guy at Autozone...
Yes, you do have an SD ecu.... "SD1" on the sticker...
What size injectors are on the car? If you don't know the size, let us know what color the tops of the injectors are...
Don't buy anymore parts (O2's) until you have pulled the codes.....
