Default Will this head gasket lower my compression ratio?

I just purchased this gasket kit, along with upper and lower intake manifold gaskets, double roller timing chain, TFS stage 1 cam, TFS upgraded valve springs, and shorty headers for GT40P's. I do plan on supercharging the car shortly after this install, so I really wouldn't be upset if it does lower it some.

part number is M-6051-B51

My E cam and BBK shorty headers will be up for grabs if anyone wants them....

not enough to really make a difference for s/c, how much boost do you plan to run later?? what heads do you have now???

Stock now, installing gt40ps when that stuff arrives. I'll probably run low boost(6-10lbs) on an fmu type setup until I can afford some tuning software. So the gasket is ok. Thanks

you should be fine on 6lbs but for 10 make sure the fuel system is adequate and you have a tune expecially so detonation doesn't occur under heavy accel/boost

Yea, I plan on running a wideband (or 2). I'll just tune using a rising rate fuel pressure regulator until I can afford a tuning device. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Right now I'm trying to prepare for my first head swap. Anything I should know thats not in the tech thread?

just make sure you torque down the heads in the right sequence and I'd use new head bolts since you are planning for boost later.....and set up valvetrain geometry/push rod length properly or at least check it

you need to watch the compression with the GT40Ps they have a small combustion chamber smaller then E7s I think the GT40Ps have a 58cc chambers if you want to lower you compression with a gasket move up to the cometics they are a grate gasket for boost and you can get them in lots of thickness I ran into this when I put GT40ps on a customer's car. But I also opened up the heads out to the edge of the gasket. and ran a .070 ths gasket but he had flat tops in his motor so we had to do something we are pushing 11psi after the intercooler which also helps keep the spark knock away. we also had no problems with push rod geometry with this change it also has a b-cam in it. But you should check like said. As far as a tuner or tune its all stock ECM with a good mass air and 42# injectors idles well and runs like a bat out of hell for what it is. driveablity is grate also the only problem we have had without the stock ECM is when its hot and you turn off the car when you restart it you need to hold the gas pedal on the floor then when it starts you just let off and its all good. The car has been 7.00 in the 1/8 at 98 mph that comes out to right around 11.00 so that's pretty good for what is there.
