Default Harmonic balancer...

Hey all my harmonic balancer on my 88 is about to become plural... Meaning its about in 2.... I have an 83 5.0 in my 67 and am thinking about taking the balancer off that in the mean time (till i have the cash to get a new one)... My question is will the balancer on the 83 be the same as the 88s.. I dont care if it looks different i just am consurned with the balance.... Will it work and work properly???

Thanks in advance...

A stock balancer is only about $60. Don't know if the 83 would be the same...I don't know why it wouldn't be just don't know for sure.

Is'nt the 88 a forged motor? If so then the balance would be different....I think

I think the balancers are different.
when I got mine the part # said for 87-93 mustang HO.
I do know they are the same balance.
call a ford dealership and ask for some technical help.
they will know for sure.

Well i broke down and bought a new one.... I hope that this one will help everything run smoother... The car used to vibrate during initial movement then would also do this when i was at higher speeds of like 55-60... It would continue to do it when i pushed the clutch in so it lead me to believe that the u-joints were bad, but maybe not.... I guess i will find out today when i start her back up...
