Did this just start or did you do something, like add new parts, then this happened?

it started a couple weeks ago...

when i floored it, i could hear the engine, but it just wouldn't go...

yesterday during regular driving it was doing it REALLY bad.. and the tach would jump around... then it would POP!

now tonite after i made this post, i went to go start it... and it would crank and rpms would jump up.. then it'd die...

kept trying to start it, then a loud ****ing BANG! and a cloud of smoke shot out of my tail pipes... nieghbors came out and everything so i was like screw this, and jumped into my gfs truck

oh and no, no changes really made at all, timing is stock...

only thing i really did to it recently was cleaned the IAC and adjusted TPS to .98 at idle...

today i put in a brand new gas tank... but like i said this problem has been going on for the past week or so...

deffinately a timing issue i would say, check your cap and rotor make sure thats all good and check your plug wires make sure they are not arcing off one another then check your distributor and make sure that its still in time. and if worst comes to worst your timing chain could be stretched and that it jumped some teeth.

well i called upon my neighbor for some help, after i put on a new MSD ignition Coil...

we bumped the timing to roghly 13*, car idled a bit better but still has a rough idle, motor is very shakey...

at part throttle accelerating it still has like no ***** sometimes, but since the new msd and timing bump i havn't had anything happen where the car pops and the tach goes ape ****.
