Default Can I use stock pushrods with this setup?

I'm installing ported GT40p heads, 1.6 rr's, trickflow stage 1 cam(.510max), tfs upgraded valve springs(.542max), and this head gasket...

http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...0%201&comp=LRS

Will I be able to re-use my stock pushrods? If not, how can I tell what size I will need?

get a pushrod measuring tool.

its an adjustable pushrod to ensure you get the right size

I was afraid of that. Damn! this started off with a $100 pair of used GT40p heads. I just dropped $700 more on compatible headers, springs, gaskets, a cam, rr's.

Ok, I know the best thing to do is measure them, but I gotta stop buying ****.

The headgasket should only slighlty lower my compression ration, so it isnt much thicker than stock. The cam is meant to work with the stock heads, rockers, and valves, when using the tfs spring upgrade(which I have). So it'd be pretty safe to assume they're compatible with the stock pushrod length.

The only real unknown is the GT40p heads. Do stock pushrods work with standard valvetrain GT40p heads?

all cars are different. everyone will tell you measure to be sure.

you can always put them in there and check to see if its correct. push rod measuring tool doesnt cost much 30 bucks i think. great insurance.

After a few google searches, I found a way to check to see if what I have will work. Remove rocker arm, paint valve stem tip with sharpie marker, re-install rocker arm with pushrod in place. Then rotate the engine a few times. Remove rocker arm, and check the mark left in the marker ink. The mark should be centered over the valve stem, not off to either side.

well if you want my 2 cents, which you probably dont, lol. since youve already spent some money, id go ahead and buy a set of comp cams hardened push rods. they have them to fit your specs plus you wont have to worry about anything. its only 99 dollars and you can get them at your local speed shop or auto parts store.

I am running pretty much the same setup except Im running regular GT-40 heads.

I was able to use the stock length pushrod but I upgraded to comp hardened push rods.

Thats what I wanted to hear! Thanks! I'll double check when I do the install though.

How do you like the TFS stage 1 cam with the gt40 heads?
