Clutch Cable Help.... and some other lil stuff......
Whats up guys.
Snapped my cable the other day. Got a new one, stock not adjustable. Atleast I don't think it is. Having trouble hooking up both ends without the clutch engaged. Wondering which end to hook up first and how to adjust and make sure its the right tension?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
On another note. My rear brakes are grinding a bit. Never got into the brakes, what would be the first suspect. Calibers on the front, and drums on the back right?
Tune up issues. I'm having some backfiring and the motor is a little rough. I put new plugs, cap and rotor. I have new wires ready to go, but I'm thinking its an emmisions issue. I don't think all the emisions sensors are on the car, would this cause an issue? Thinking about taking off the fuel injector and switching to a carb b/c of where I'm at with the emmissions crap. Any help would be massively appreciated.

For the clutch cable, its useful to have a buddy handy. Slide it into the quadrant and have him hold it, then you can get down there and pry the clutch for forward enough to put the cable in the fork.
Depends, but most are drums rear, disc front. How'd you isolate it to rear? If it is it could be a few things. See if your wheel cylinders are leaking, and check the adjustment of the shoes. Could be a broken spring riding around in there too. NO way to know with out taking a peek.
I dont' like going to carb simply because one can't figure out EFI, I think one should try to figure it out. Our 5.0's aren't that difficult anyway. First thing everyone will tell you to check is your timing, which could tell you if its just timing, or a stretch/jumped timing chain. Make sure to check firing order. Maybe try pulling codes as well. See if you spit a MAF code or an o2 code.

I took a look at the rear drums today. The LR side, the one I hear the grinding coming from just came off with no resistance at all. Inside looked pretty rusty. I saw some minor grind marks but not by the shoes. I need to take a pic and post it.
