When I bought some 16x8 cobra R's, they told me that my 225/55/16's will fit on no bigger than an 8" wide rim... so most likely a 9" rim is a no-no. Therefore, if you are still looking to buy some rims.. I'd go for some bigger rims and just get new tires.. or go for some 16x8 rims and keep the tires you have.

I fit my 275/60/15 on an 8" rim.
225 is way too small for a 9" rim.

too small a 225 may fit but it may not seat and a 205 gauranteed won't

im going drifting not drag racing. Plus im on a budget and the wider you go the more expensive. You want to have a mild stretch for a drift tire to minimize sidewall roll and flex
