Are you still running the stock alt or have you gone to the 3g?

i also was wondering if anyone knew what this was? it is behind where the radio would be and i am thinking of a slight chance antifreeze leaked into/onto it?

OK, posting links to my space doesn't work. You have to be a member to view the pics.

also adding that now that i have changed the battery in my multimeter (it was reading voltage like crap cause of bad/dieing battery) the car runs around 11.85ish to 12.40ish volts...low end with lights on and high end with no load what-so-ever

my voltage is the same. around 13.5ish. and yes when you turn on the flashers the battery gauge jumps each time the flash as well as when you turn on the ac/heater. i wouldn't worry about it. Do you have u/d pullies on it? find the draw so you can eliminate that and you should be fine.

i realized the flashers thing when i looked at it on my truck too...

if it goes up to high 13's when you accelerate/charging, i wouldn't worry about it. believe me i am in the same boat. i tried and could not find anything wrong. people here say it should be in the 14's at idle and never could get mine that high. its been a while since i checked mine but i would say mine flucuates between 12.8-13.4. it usaully starts high than levels off at 12.8ish

things i did just in case

upgraded to the 3g alt. from 95 cobra or something, i can't remember
ran new 4g wire from alt to solenoid.

to find the draw

disconnect the positive terminal and clamp on a test light to the term. then touch the pos post. the light should come on and is probably bright. get a friend to pull fuses while you watch the light. there should be a slight dim in the light for the computer and the radio clock/settings but thats it.

i found which fuse has my draw and when i know i'm not gonna drive the car for awhile i pull that fuse, so it doesn't drain. my draw is the alarm and i'm not that prone to pulling that crap out of the car just yet. hope this helps
