Be sure that you did put the wires on correctly. If you have a set crossed it can be hard to diagnose sometimes because its something you don't think you will screw up. What did you gap the plugs at? Plugs do tend to close slightly after being ran for awhile so you may have not gave them enough of a gap.

ok i'll check them over again... I gapped them at 32... that's what my old plugs were at... and i tried to take a video but it didn't do it... really doesn't make much sense! lol i'll check them again though, thanks for all the help so far guys!

ya pretty sure i do... I put it on the same as the other... so far everything looks good! i dunno?

Widen the gap to .040 or so and see what happens. I'd be willing to bet that's your problem, assuming all the plug wires are on the correct cylinders.

Edit: You said you're smelling gas too? Try revving it and see if any white gas smelling smoke comes out of the pipes.

confirm the firing order, 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 counterclockwise on the distributor, passenger side front is #1

Gap them between .52 and.54 and see what happens. Then double check your timing and firing order while you are at it.

yeah thats the right firing order but just double check you have them right on the distributor i made that mistake before and it did the same thing you described

ok ... could I turn the car and and start one at a time pulling the wires off the distributer and determine if one of the cylinders isn't firing? lol only way I can think of... any suggestions on how to check?

Well if you don't have the gaps right on the plugs it won't fire right so be sure to do what we have said first. Then clean the plugs off before you reinstall them. After you have done all of this and you have double checked it all start it and let it run and if it still does it then pull them out and see which ones are not firing right. Either being black or soaked with fuel.
