Default Fan clearance problem. Go electric or ?

The previous owner of my '91 put Energy Suspension poly motor mounts in the car. After about 500 miles the fan chewed up the bottom of the shroud so he ended up taking the fan and shroud out of the car with plans of installing an electric fan. I was curious if any one knows another option besides an electric fan to combat this. IMO somthing has to be wrong because if anything the poly mounts should hold up better than rubber ones so the motor shouldn't be any lower than stock height in the engine bay. Any other explanation on how this could happen? I can't see anything wrong with the placement of the engine but obviously it's sitting lower if the fan is hitting the shroud.

Honestly I don't see how the mounts could let it do that. The only thing I can say is maybe he put the wrong type of mounts in maybe he put convertible mounts or he just didnt for some reason put it in right.

I have that problem as well. I just bought a taurus fan to put in to solve all my problems though... No idea why the motor is so low that the fan tears the shroud up...

More details about the Taurus fan? How does it help?

The Taurus fan isn't attached to the motor, it's an electric fan that just mounts to the radiator so it doesn't matter how the engine is sitting because the fan and shroud are separate from the motor now...

I had a set of those energy mounts they actually moved the motor forward....I took them off...never finish mounting up the motortrans...etc...Im sure other things would have hit and not cleared....trans crossmember, do some driveshaft mods...f all that.

Hmm, I wonder if I should just go back to stock mounts. What ones are you running now?
