not so sensitive 5.0 ?

sup yall's maybe someone here can figure this out. i have a 93 gt hatch. back in summer of 02' 81.9 f, i went to a local speedshop and had a dyno done(dynojet model 248c). at the time the only performance mod i had was a k&n air filter in the stock air box still, new clutch, and that's it running stock gears-2.73's. i had about 200,000 mi on it at the time.the result was 201 rwhp, and 271 lbs.ft torque. now for the shocker... just last summer same place, same dynojet with a little over 300,000 mi, and the following performance mods, bbk off road h-pipe, super 40 series flowmaster mufflers, custom cat-back pipes, advanced timing, ford motorsports plugs and wires, new radiator, pro 5.0 shifter. result... 202 rwhp, 271 lbs ft torque needless to say wtf! can someone , anyone out there explain a possible reason for this? greatly appreciate it.

i was thinking that too but a lot of mechanics have told me despite the high milage the car is in damn good shape . i keep up the maintanence very well.

damn dude! You should take a pic of the mileage and frame it! congratulations! I must say! you are one of the few that I know that has extremely high mileage! about your question it could be your high mileage or someone is not doing something right.............good luck!

Mileage is definately a factor, internals are wearing out, you can take excellent care of the car, but that doesnt stop the valve springs from wearing, or the rings from wearing, etc.. 200 HP with 200,000 miles? That's a great number for a stock 5.0 with 0 miles... Sure it's in great condition, but 300,000 miles is well..... 300,000 miles!

Plus an exhaust system and timing isn't really that big of a deal, just improves sound quality... Get a new short block, or a rebuild kit from summit racing, rebuild it, then take it back, bet you'll make a few more HP.. I mean come on, 300,000 miles and you put it on the dyno expecting to be impressed and the only mods you have are exhaust and timing.. Waste of money sounds like to me.. Get a new engine, it's not gonna last forever.
