Default HId Headlight Kit

I keep seeing the advertisment for the HID kits and was wondering, exactley what is it, what does it do, and how is it better than factory lights?

high discharged lighting i think thats what it means.. its like supper bright light thats all you can get it in many shades of colors. Not all shades are legal so be careful. I know in ny 10k is the highest allowed but i seen people with yellow and purple hids not get pulled over. Its also very low consuming light its only uses like 35w instead of the normal bulbs being 55w or 50w. I'm planning on gettting them for my mustang I prefer the super white light then a blue ish. But thats me. By the way the lower the number the whiter. If you ever been on the road and you got those people driving like towards you and you cant see because the light is so blinding thats hids pretty much they are like high beams on steroids when the hid aren't even on high beam.

Well, everything was correct to this point, except the acronym (high intensity discharge). Lower than 8k will get closer to white, but lower than 4k is getting more yellow. 4k to 5k is a nice white.

HID is not high beams on steroids. It is quite a bit brighter than stock lights, but blinding other drivers depends on how high you aim your lights.

Also, be careful with some of the HID kits, because many are single bulbs, so while you get great bright low beams, you lose your high beams. Some kits have a bulb that pivots to change the angle of the bulb to give you high beams.

I just love driving towards someone who has them and I'm like WTF I CAN"T SEE AT ALL... and thats just the lower setting of the headlights they have on, can only imagine if the high beams were on lol.

well, i just hate how I drive around with my stock mustang lights on High Beams, and its basically just normal to any other cars low beam...HIDS (with the white light, and high beam) are without a doubt in my future...
