So Im havent alot of problems shifting into 5th gear, no issues with any other gears just 5th it will grind if im at a dead stop and put the trans into 5th all i hear is GRINDDDD and i have to wait for my rpms to drop to a real low level driving or else it just catches and grinds. is it the synchronziers going bad or clutch problem? i dunno any help would be nice

if you keep trying to engage the gear gringing it , it will destroy the syhncro teeth on the gear hub if not already destroyed, the brass blocker ring for 5th may be bad, you'll have to remove the tailshaft and inspect it or remove the whole tranny and bring it to me for a rebuild, I'm rebuilding PRO50SC'S t-5 for his wifes car right now........you pay for the parts and I normally don't charge more than 200-250 to rebuild it labor wise......I try to keep a customers total cost under 500 on t-5 rebuilds
