that car is prolly going to need the better part of a grand at least to get back into shape... the tires look dryrotted, the interior is prolly moldy with the leaking sunroof, who knows what the floors look like...

and not to sound facetious, but damn, your sister in law is selfish/dumb, rather let it sit and rot... sheesh.. some people would kill for that kind of a car heh...

hell, I'm selling my '86, only cuz I dont have the time to finish it anymore... a guy is looking at it with my dad today.... not to say I dont hate the car, I just dont have the time to give it the love it needs...

Let me just make it clear that this isn't a T/W thread.

I'm not looking to sell the car. I just wanted to know what it was worth before I started thinking about repairing the car.

I know I'm going to have to dump some cash into it and I didn't want to waste money with no chance on any return
Don't put a penny into this car, you'll never get it back! ...even if you spend the time to clean it the best you can...

dude dont tell him not to work on it, that is a good project if he wants to do it. I am in full support, someone already bought a lot of parts for you all you have to do is finish it and park it in a garage

Have you ever worked on a car that has sank into the ground over the past 6 years? ...things go wrong, rear main seal, freeze out plugs, sun roof leaking...now if the car had been sitting in a controlled garage, that's a little different...it's just going to take a lot to get this car going...look at the pics!

I with Tim on this one...I wouldnt spend any money on it....I would semi clean it up...wax n buff cuz wont cost you much but time...change the oil and do basic tune up....then unload it...I dont know about price....cars are getting cheap. I would say this car is worth about 4500-5000. If you sold it as is....Since a lot is unknown...like bottom end etc. Yeah that intake is super oldschool...like a Cartech kinda.

6 years means.... all fluids are dead, tires are ready to rott out, half the seals have turned into cake, the ignition and electrical components will have more sudiment and rott than a california beach, the interior prolly smells like dog... ect

this would be a solid car if you wanted to work on it and keep it. its not something to flip for a profit really.
